In memory of Ezra Hogg Troop 228 instituted this scholarship program. The scholarship is awarded
to members of Troop 228 and Crew 2228 who attain the rank of Eagle Scout and who actively participate in scouting until their
18th birthday or the end of their senior year of high school. The scholarship award amount is $100. Click here for Application
Ezra Hogg was a member of Troop 228 and Venture Crew 2228 until his tragic death on December 10, 2001.
Ezra was a shining example of the Scout Oath and Law in practice. His smile was infectious, and he made everyone around him
understand what enjoying life was all about. On August 15, 2000 Ezra, along with Matt Alles, were the first Venture
Scouts in the Gerald R. Ford Council to earn the rank of Eagle Scout.
